A Letter from Jen

Vector: a quantity having direction as well as magnitude, especially as determining the position of one point in space relative to another.

Performance: the execution of an action; something accomplished; the fulfillment of a claim, promise, or request.

A Note from Founder and CEO, Jennifer Buck

When people ask me about my work, I tell them I have the best job in the world. I get to spend each day helping people and companies reach their potential for excellence and achieve extraordinary results. I get to be a sounding board, thought partner, confidant, truth teller, and cheerleader for exceptional people. I get to learn and grow from my clients every day while I help them to learn and grow.

I started Vector Performance 14 years ago after many years of holding leadership positions in a wide variety of environments. I led teams, functions, and departments in Non Profit, Marketing, Government, Consumer Goods, and Financial Service organizations. I spent time in the trenches learning what it takes to be successful in each environment as well as getting to know the similarities and differences across all these industries. Context, culture, and organizational dynamics vary greatly from industry to industry and company to company. However, I’ve learned that people are people no matter where they work or what they do. And there are certain universal human challenges that people face at each phase of their career and each level of leadership. Working through these challenges is how people advance their careers and meet their goals. I’ve made it my focus to help individuals, teams, and organizations navigate these challenges and create powerful wins and results.

When I started my own business, my goal was to broaden my professional impact, focus exclusively on clients and projects that I found meaningful and interesting, and feed my entrepreneurial spirit. Fourteen years later, I can say I’ve done precisely that. I love the variety in my work as well as the new relationships I am privileged to build each year.

I value transparency, integrity, and authenticity and strive to run my business and live my life accordingly. My clients are my partners. We form strong, trusting, long term relationships. Additionally, over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to develop a network of talented, like-minded professionals who can step in and help with projects that require more resources or expertise outside of my own. That enables me to maintain a close, hands on relationship with all my clients while also having the bandwidth to meet a wider range of client needs.

When I am not working, I am fully invested in quality time with my husband, Adam, my 2 children, Kayla and Cameron, our 2 white wolves (huskies) and our 2 cats. Chances are, you’ll find us traveling somewhere around the globe seeking new adventures or curled up on the couch together watching movies.

If you are looking for a new external partner to develop leaders, engage employees, and advance interpersonal skills and performance capability in your organization, I’d love to speak with you. Or, if you are an individual looking to grow your career, your leadership skills, or simply better navigate work/life challenges, I’d love to speak with you as well.

Let’s grab a cup of coffee or hop on the phone to get to know each other and see if it makes sense to work together.

I look forward to hearing from you!

-Jen
